Elevating a typical blog membership website by 25%
Jon and Tam, MBA students from The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Dallas, collaborated on a business concept for their MBA project.
Their idea centered around a website membership platform designed for individuals who either owned a startup or were planning to launch one. The platform would offer practical tips, strategic insights, and comprehensive guides on launching and managing a business, supported by interviews with real entrepreneurs.
To bring their vision to life, they approached me for help with the website design. Their goal was a clean, text-forward layout with minimal graphics—primarily article-based content—but they were clear that it shouldn’t feel dull or generic. They wanted a design that was visually appealing and distinct from typical business websites.
Striking a balance between visual appeal yet practical, with a familiar user experience
I delivered high-fidelity mockups of the website optimized for both desktop and mobile experiences. The final designs balanced a minimalist aesthetic with visual interest, meeting their vision of a professional yet engaging user interface.
In addition, I created realistic presentation mockups to showcase how the website might appear in real-world scenarios, which they used effectively in their final project presentation.
